CEO – MAG LIFESTYLE DEVELOPMENT

MAG Lifestyle Development (MAG LD) started life initially as MAG Property Development with one project in 2007. Ten years later, the company has delivered eight projects that are spread across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, one of which includes the world’s largest automated parking facility as certified by the Guinness World Book of Records. We meet with Syrian born, 32 year old CEO of MAG Lifestyle Development, Talal Moafaq Al Gaddah to find out more about MAG LD’s current initiatives.

Talal was educated at Al Mawakeb School and loved it because it created a wonderful learning environment that was led by an excellent school management. His happiest school memories are the friends he made and studying under the guidance of Mr. Adonis Nasr, the CEO of AMSI.

In 2014, Talal took over the role of CEO at MAG Lifestyle Development and is responsible for driving the company’s overall direction and strategy while also guiding six departments: Finance, Project Management, Sales, Marketing, Real Estate Development and Legal.

Prior to his role as CEO, Talal served as the Partner and Director of Sales and Marketing at Invest Group Overseas, another property development arm of MAG Group and was responsible to grow the company’s portfolio and profits, and open up new markets including the successful launch of The Gate in Frisco City, Texas, USA.

Talal mentions the brand is constantly on the lookout for new opportunities, pioneering innovative concepts and always ready for what customers desire, whenever and wherever that may be. The company’s vision is to strive to be a future shaping, customer centric lifestyle development company that is always surpassing expectations.

Talking about achievements, Talal mentions the company has steadily built a reputation for uncompromising quality, led by the overarching vision of the Chairman and Founder of the MAG Group Moafaq Al Gaddah. MAG has delivered remarkable developments across the UAE and has achieved a first in the region by announcing a wellness inspired real estate project, MAG Creek Wellbeing Resort, which includes the world’s largest wellness centre and launching MAG of Value division, which caters to mid-income earners and delivers ‘value homes’ without compromising on the quality.

According to Talal, MAG Lifestyle Development rebranded in 2017 with a long-term strategic vision and roadmap for the future. The vision ensures continuous improvement in property sustainability standards, customer satisfaction and happiness, leadership in adopting innovative trends, exceeding expectations in quality standards, and ensuring good return on investment. Talal and his team are confident to achieve excellence by taking advantage of Dubai’s strategic location, bright global reputation and international competitiveness, and most importantly by listening to customers and giving them exactly what they need.

 Talal mentions that the AED 2.2 billion MAG Creek Wellbeing Resort will combine the highest standards of health and luxury facilities and hence MAG LD has joined forces with Delos™, a leading wellness real estate and technology company.

The MAG EYE project, a AED 4 billion exclusive private gated community will offer value homes to residents and is  due completion in Q1 2022. Other projects under development include MAG 318, a new mixed-use luxury residential tower in the Business Bay Downtown Dubai area which will completed in Q4 2019; MAG 230, a prestigious residential landmark to be developed in the heart of Dubailand and completed in Q4 2019; and MBL Residence Tower, which is a 40-level residential tower located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers and will also be completed by Q4 2019.

The company’s value housing project, MAG 5 Boulevard in Dubai South, where construction is underway and in advanced stages. The first phase of the project, which consists of 528 units, will be handed over in Q2 2018.

MAG LD has a deep understanding of Dubai and places a high priority on providing the city with exactly what it needs. Talal talks about supporting Dubai’s sustainable growth by attracting a new wave of both domestic and foreign investors and introducing innovative solutions.

He feels the property market in the GCC has matured over the last few years and is now achieving sustainable growth and will continue given the upcoming Expo 2020. The supply of residential units in Dubai continues to increase and success in the commercial sector is directly linked to a development’s proximity to preferred locations such as metro stations and key roads, so it differs highly from one area and development to another.

Talal reiterates that the UAE and specifically Dubai’s market has shown great resilience and represents a safe haven for investors from all over the world. The number of prestigious international conferences, exhibitions and real estate events being held in Dubai reflects the stability of the market despite the challenges being faced in regional countries.

He also believes that the future of MAG lies beyond just building houses; instead, it centres on creating unique concepts and new opportunities that proactively improves customers’ lives with exceptional homes. This continues the legacy of Moafaq Al Gaddah, Chairman and Founder of the MAG Group, whose life work has hinged on translating dreams into reality.

On the personal front, Talal has been involved in various charitable activities throughout his life; each has been close to his heart and undertaken for personal rather than public reasons. He has accepted all kinds of challenges in his career and as CEO of MAG Lifestyle Development, he enjoys guiding the company through such an exciting era of evolution and change.

Talal is also an avid car collector and particularly interested in Rolls Royce. His hobbies include walking, cycling and football. Travel is a huge part of his life and he feels lucky to be based in Dubai with easy to access to exciting parts of the world. Talal travels most frequently to London and the US for a mixture of business and leisure. He likes the UK, because it is home to London, his favourite city because it is so walkable and can be explored at leisure. And California is a rare treat for him because the flight is so long which merits a relaxing and long vacation.

When talking of role models, Talal has been most influenced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai whose vision, ambition, and speed in developing the Emirate is both inspiring and motivating and his father as well, Mr. Moafaq Al Gaddah, who is an excellent leader and manager.

Talal hopes to continue the vision of being a future-shaping, customer-centric lifestyle development company that is always surpassing expectations and constantly on the lookout for new opportunities, pioneering innovative concepts and anticipating customers’ desires.
